Introduction to Egyptian Astrology Weekend Intensive Lab

What's Happening

Stretching into the deepest reaches of astrological history, we will look at the development and role of astrology and astrologers in Egyptian temples from the Old Kingdom in 2500BCE until the Greco-Roman period around the turn of the first millennium CE. From the horological and calendrical uses of the 36 divine asterisms, the Decans, we will trace their journey into annual phase predictions, eclipse predictions & eventually natal astrology.

Finding the Decanic fixed stars, their bright degrees, their rulers & faces, we will unlock a whole new dimension of interpretation. Next comes Sothic astrology, and the role of mundane predictions based on the heliacal rising of Sirius. Then, we explore Egyptian medical astrology, using the Decans for diagnoses and magical remedies. We will finally look at the early Egyptian “lot-houses” from Demotic astrological texts and trace their uses in interpretation, leading to the discovery of the holy Daimon, the master of the nativity and the conception of the soul and releasing our fate from the Egyptian perspective.
